Small Party Price Increase

We haven’t increased our party prices for 3 years (can you believe!) but have this year taken the decision to increase the cost of each party by a small amount. This mainly reflects the national increase to cost of food and fuel - we blame the government!!

The parties that we offer are staying in exactly the same tried and tested and very much trusted, format because we get so many lovely reviews there’s no need to change a thing.
All the party pals still say it was their best party ever and we often get a crying parent when they see their kids having so much fun.

We keep the kids moving fast paced from the second we start and encourage them to be loud, shout a lot because they are in sound proof building and climb on the sofa, which they can’t do at home.

Pop Stars make the rules - we don’t!

So, if you have a child thats got a birthday popping up soon, book your party now and relax knowing everything is taken care of. Just bring the kids - and a cake if you want to. All cakes are also photographed in Cake Corner to add to the cake gallery - which is going to be published on here soon.

Website Facelift

In February we began some interesting new upgrades to the website and began with a nice little facelift to the homepage. In the coming weeks there will be more changes as we now have a small team of experts working behind the scenes on the website also.

Running parties for kids since 2009 has been a magical experience for all the party pals, parents and myself as organiser too of course, but this year just felt like the right time to restructure a few things.
So, if you have time and feel inclined, please take a look at the new website homepage and let us know your thoughts on how the site is looking, how easy to book a party feels and find all the right info you need!

All parties still get the same attention to detail with the entertainment value for the kids, song production, red carpet photo shoot and laser disco to finish - you just bring the kids and a cake if you want to! We do the rest.

Merchandise makes your Party Special

Merchandise is very important for any pop star and we have plenty of merch ready for you.

You can order it ahead of the party or buy on the day - you decide.
At professional gigs there will be T-shirts, hoodies, caps posters or novelty items on sale to remember the gig with and I know I almost always buy something cos this helps the band and they rely on merch sales even more so these days.

So we have have merch for your lil budding pop stars starting with your Free CD - this is a great thing to keep for posterity which has a glossy colour label on it with a picture of the party pals and track listing of course.

Further to that you can get the red carpet photos printed into A5 or A4 format and we sell frames for the A4 photos too so you dont need to do anything more.
Also on sale are classics like mugs, pens and key-rings and we have stickers and temporary tattoos, but our favourite is our branded bluetooth speaker which if you child has a phone can be great to hear the finished songs on after the party and pass around with their friends.

Our speakers can be bought or you can win one by doing the Pop Star Puzzle on the day - a great way of keeping the kids busy whilst waiting for everyone to arrive or winding down after the laser disco.

Puzzles Provide Prizes at Pop Star Party

Emily had a wonderful party with us recently and brought the most amazing friends who all sang really well and fully enjoyed all our props for the red carpet shoot, including the new squid game mask and everything else we do!

They sang Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift which went really well (we love Swifty songs) and then took on the extremely popular Golden by K Pop Stars’ fictional girl group Huntr/X from the Demon Hunters film. Such a well put together pop song.

Also during the party the girls did our new Pop Star Puzzle which is a bit like Escape Rooms in that they have to find the puzzles in all our rooms, then solve the clues and make the word to win the prize!!

It’s easier than it sounds and is a whole lot of fun to do, plus the birthday girl wins one of our groovy little bluetooth speakers to play her party recordings on when she gets home and it can be passed around her friends of course.

Pop Star Party proudly presents ... ... ... Puzzle Party Promo!

OK so we need to try and avoid too much alliteration with the letter P but Pop Star Puzzle is proving a great success since we introduced it in September.

Over the Summer we put together this concept as a neat little add on which can be purchased as another lasting memory of your time at the barn. But you don’t just buy it - you get the kids involved by searching the in-studio Puzzle Rooms and solving the Puzzle to win a Prize.
Since CD’s are far less popular these days and everyone is streaming music we decided that having our own little branded red hot speakers was a cool thing for kids to have. Once your music is downloaded to a phone wouldn’t it be nice to hear it all a bit louder on a cool little bluetooth speaker so diddy it goes in your pocket.

Further to these we also have our branded Mugs and Keyrings for sale on display in the Control Room. These can be ordered ahead of your party or just bought on the day of course. You decide!

Pop Star Puzzle is here for the New School Year

So over the Summer we generally don’t run so many parties but this gives us time to think of amazing new party ideas.
Last weekend we trialled the new offer with 2 groups having parties with us and have been pleased with the reactions so far.
From September 2025 we are introducing the Pop Star Puzzle.
This is a wonderful little addition to the armoury of extras you can choose from for you childs birthday and is incorporated into your party duration. The Puzzle is permanently set out in the studio with different puzzles in different rooms. All your kids have to do is work together to find the puzzles, solve them for clues and guess the Solution correctly. They get a sheet to write answers on and do this puzzles as they find them. The prize is one of our Awesome Pop Star Party Portable Speakers - so after the party the kids can listen to their recordings all together on the go!!

What's the Score?

Pop Star Party is always the best fun and all our parties are rammed with excitement, hilarious moments and chaos as provided by the kids. The children do lots of different activities including singing as a group, a red carpet photoshoot guarded by the gatekeeper, enjoy a booster buffet in the bunk room, sometimes we film them for a video or sing your chosen solo under spotlights whilst being judged by your band mates, but we always finish with an amazing laser disco watching the gallery pics taken of your event, plus the very important cake display in cake corner with candle blowing moment which everyone enjoys.

QR code Scan Me cards for reviews

Scattered around the party venue you will now come across our Scan Me cards which have proved a tremendous success.
We fully understand that your childs party can be a stressful time for you as parents and after the party you have heaps more to do or may be hosting a sleep over with your child’s friends or going away on holiday.

So we came up with a superb little idea of Scan Me cards so you can actually leave a review of the party whilst you are waiting to collect your child at the end of the incredible laser disco or just having a cup of tea during the event. Simply scan the QR code on the card (or on the hosts mug!) and it takes you to the Google review page where you can tick a few golden stars or write a few words - job done. Laser Disco Update

We are in the process of fine tuning the disco room a little and a few general upgrades to the studio generally as we go (including the a deep clean of the main mixing desk console) so thought this a good time to show a few pics from a recent disco - all our parties are magical and the disco is often the best part as kids have sometimes never experienced fog and lasers.

Back to School 2024

Ah the kids are back to school and the grown up ones are going to Colleges, 6th Forms or even heading to Uni - or worse still actually starting jobs!
But the little ones are bouncing into school and making new friends and probably thinking about their next birthdays and who they want to invite.

A little funny story from 2023: Early December I had a small error when inviting the girls at a party to write on my white board and clearly pointed at the window blind! Before I knew it I had lots of nice comments about the party and the birthday girl that day written on the yellow blind - what can you do??? So i just asked the next groups to do the same until the whole thing was covered and the kids all loved it.
Obviously I now have a brand new window blind which suits the room better - I shall be clearer with instructions from now on!!

School Year coming to a close

Well, as the school year enters its final half term and everyone is fed up of exams, mocks and reports its quite normal for birthday parties to slow a little, but Pop Star Party doesn’t have to just be for birthdays - we regularly run parties for many other occasions where a group of young kids want to hang out, sing a few fun songs and have a party together. So - over the Summer why not book a ‘we’re not at school’ Pop Star Party for your kids and let us entertain them for a while.

Recently Scarlett had her 12th Birthday with us and booked the Platinum Party enjoying everything we have to offer. The group sang Castle on the Hill and made their pop video with the same song which looks amazing. Scarlett sang Ex-wives from the musical Six as her solo, all the kids really enjoyed the party and even the parents got on the red carpet photoshoot! Oh - The cake was awesome too!

Sing Pose Feast Film Snap Dance FUN!!

The last 2 months have been busy and life threw me an unexpected change recently, but as the famous phrase goes ‘the show must go on’ or in our case the parties must go on!

So, this is a just a tiny blog to say thanks for all those that booked recently and enjoyed parties at the barn and here’s to the next few months which should be warmer and dryer - I for one am a bit fed up of the lousy weather atm.
Our new feature of the 360º camera footage has proven popular thankfully so do let me know if you want that included in your party.
CDs this year have proven less necessary, so these will shortly become an optional extra since most people just don’t have a CD player anymore!
Lastly I wanted to mention a funny moment that happened only last weekend when the kids announced they had completed the Tetris Puzzle - I actually fell for it and believed they had. Nobody has completed this puzzle in over 7 years so I was amazed - but they hadn’t. They had hidden a piece. Normally I spot this but it was a busy party and I totally fell for it!!

Let's Hear it for the Cakes!

Cakes make birthdays special and at Pop Star Party we see some very special cakes - I am constantly amazed at how much effort goes into making the various themed cakes that arrive with the kids.
So - we should give them some time and make a fuss of some of the most incredible creations recently.
Whoever made them needs a pat on the back and a big well done for helping make all these kids cakes.

Cutting a CD Single & Cutting the Cake

There has been much thought & research put into the question of whether to continue to make a custom CD after party, with the various songs recorded at your party on there & a pic of the group on glossy label.
All kids sing at least 1 song as a group, which can be quite noisy or can be extremely well delivered - depends on the group every time. Often there will be up to 3 songs on the CD including Happy Birthday. Some parties will have a solo slot and this can, in some circumstances end up on the CD, but usually is a separate song produced straight after the party when there is a bit less chaos going on!
The dilemma we have is that nowadays many kids aged 8 upwards don’t really have a CD player - so should we keep producing them.
The research and feedback has resolved with a resounding Yes as parents will certainly keep it forever - so we shall continue this aspect. Personally I think its great that the kids do take away something physical after their party but also fully recognise that CDs are a tad old fashioned now. Extra copies are still available for £5 each.
Cutting the Cake is clearly still the most important part of any party and this happens in our Party Hangout room where the buffet is laid out.

Partytime

Well since the last post I’m so pleased to say there have been plenty of parties in the pipeline and plenty more to follow.
Sing Pose Feast Film Snap Dance FUN is the party slogan and the kids always have a great laugh trying to say it as fast as me - but it’s cool, cos then they know what’s happening during the party, usually!

Back to School Part 2

So after last years total fail at getting the kids back to school, I’m hoping this year will be better.
Mine is hopping back on the bus from Monday & I’m pretty sure most parents are ready for the new school year to start again.

In July I ran several parties for some lucky kids who’s parents managed to get a booking at the studio in amongst everything else going on with the chaos of unlocking and we saw plenty of happy faces, excited kids and heard lots of laughter again in the studio. Hopefully the new season will be the same.
September is already looking to be a very busy month for me with many different things to organise, not least of which is my own Mum’s birthday - she’s 80 on September 11th.

Booking a party is still as easy as ever - call me on the mobile, leave a message on the studio landline or email me with your ideal date/s. Once the date is agreed, i take a small booking deposit and then the full balance on the actual day. Kids need parties - book yours today!!
